Instituto Sacatar

During my career I have always been interested in the ideas of intercultural communication, its social, historical and other aspects, along with the ideas of cultural inheritance, development and progress. The influence of post-modern philosophy determined my interest in European and other ancient cultures, their utilization in contemporary art. In 2012 Sigitas Staniunas was an artist in residency for one month in Instituto Sacatar, Brazil. During his stay artist created cycle of paintings and few art events in collaboration with capoeira masters of  Itaparica. At the end of his stay artist had an exhibition in Library of Itaparica.

I just bought a painting of yours. It is a village on stilts. The number on the back is 219GRE…something. I would like to know more about the painting. It is so peaceful and one of my favorites. Please let me know more.
